Reinildo Mandava scored his first goal for Atlético de Madrid, paving the way for a 2-1 win against Rayo Vallecano. Bruno Langa, another Mozambican international who plays on the left wing, has left Chaves in Portugal to join Mandava in Spain, but to represent the red lantern, Almeria.
Mozambican international Reinildo Mandava scored his first goal for Atlético de Madrid in Spain. The Mozambican left-back helped his team beat Rayo Vallecano by two goals to one in the 20th round of the Spanish top flight, LaLiga.
In other words, Reinildo is even in charge of the opposite goal. In fact, he’s confident. On Wednesday, he scored his second goal in a week, after scoring his first a week ago for the Mambas against Ghana.
Interestingly, the two goals Reinildo Mandava scored were both headers and both came from the same position, from a cross from the left.
Reinildo Mandava was instrumental in Atlético de Madrid’s two-one victory over Rayo Vallecano. In a set-piece, the Mozambican full-back popped up in the penalty area to finish with a header, putting his team ahead.
It was a similar move to the one the Mambas made against Ghana in the Ivorian CAN, responding positively to a Geny Catamo corner, but this time it was Riquelme who curled a free kick onto the Mozambican’s head.
The visitors responded seven minutes later. Alvaro Garcia made the most of the chance his team created, restoring equality.
In the second half, Atlético came back stronger, with Depay breaking the deadlock at the end of the half to secure victory for the “colchoneros”. Atlético de Madrid remain in third place with 47 points, eight fewer than leaders Girona, on 54.
Mozambican internationals Bruno Langa and Guima went to Braga to earn a one-all draw in the 19th round of the Portuguese Primeira Liga. Guima was on target and Bruno came on in the 59th minute. Desportivo Chaves are in penultimate place with 13 points.
