UNDP Launches Inclusive Insurance and Risk Financing Diagnosis in Mozambique

This is an initiative that aims to explore and discuss the challenges and opportunities related to the insurance sector and risk management in the Mozambican context in coordination with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

With this initiative, the goal is to seek financing mechanisms for the implementation of insurance against natural disaster risks. Specifically, the initiative is being developed in six African countries, including Mozambique, considered at high risk of natural disasters, according to the head of the Environment, Natural Resources, Climate Change, and Resilience Unit of the UNDP, Eunice Mucache.

The leader considered the Launch Seminar for the Inclusive Insurance and Risk Financing Diagnosis in Mozambique as an event organized to assess existing resources and identify priorities that need urgent attention from the UNDP.

In the same event, discussions were held regarding the impacts caused by cyclones that have struck the country in recent years, aiming to define strategies for a better recovery and reconstruction of various destroyed infrastructures.

This information was made public on the morning of Thursday, November 16, in the city of Maputo, by the head of the Environment, Natural Resources, Climate Change, and Resilience Unit of the UNDP, Eunice Mucache, at the Launch Seminar for the Inclusive Insurance and Risk Financing Diagnosis in Mozambique.
